On May 20, 2012 the annual St. Lucy's Altar and Rosary Society "High Tea" was held in the Church Hall. It was an opportunity for over sixty members and their guests to gather in spirited fellowship. It is a dress event with fine china on the tables. Hats, though optional, are worn my many making it a rather elegant afternoon.
The original High Tea, for almost 60 years, was put on by the Mother Cabrini School PTA. With the High Tea there was also a Fashion Show in which members modeled dresses and hats from the many fine women's apparel stores that existed in Scranton. The school closed in 1971 and the event eventually ceased. The Altar and Rosary Society brought back the High Tea five years ago to the delight of its older members, who remember it well. Now it is enjoyed by all Society members and their guests. We thank all who made this year's event possible and the Altar and Rosary Society and friends that made it a wonderful afternoon.
